The chestnut-colored drawing is not prevalent in the African Djallonké population, and is less widespread than the predominantly uniform white sheep. This while in Europe it is the most common color. Black bellied chocolate, black bellied light brown, black bellied dark brown, and fully black are most common in West-Europe. Black Bellied colored sheep can be found in eg. Guinea Bissau, Ghana, Cameroon, Rep.Congo.
